M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Psychology of Diversity Certificate-Texas A&M University
I am currently a doctoral student in the School Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Houston, committed to empowering young lives and addressing stigmas through advocacy and research. My work centers on creating environments—across schools, communities, and family systems—where individuals feel supported, understood, and equipped to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. I use my platform to communicate the importance of mental well-being and advocate for accessible mental health services in racially and ethnically diverse schools and communities. I believe we all have an inner light meant to be cast upon others, and I aim to lead with purpose and compassion. Before beginning my doctoral studies, I served as a high school educator and a clinical intern at Psychology Works, where I delivered individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and trauma-related concerns. These experiences deepened my understanding of culturally responsive care and reinforced my commitment to serving diverse youth and families.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, dancing, practicing yoga, and spending time with my loved ones. A quote that inspires my journey is by Maya Angelou: “My mission in life is not merely to survive… but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
